Pupil voice can show whether anti-bullying policy is visible, trusted and realistic. The best survey questions are practical, safe and easy for leaders to act on.
Try questions such as: I know who I can speak to if I am worried about bullying. Adults in school listen carefully when pupils ask for help. Pupils in my year group know the difference between conflict and bullying behaviour.
Ask whether pupils know the reporting route, whether they believe adults will follow up, and what might stop someone from asking for help. Give pupils anonymous ways to answer honestly.
Ask pupils what they think a safe bystander can do. Include options such as checking in privately, not forwarding messages, telling a trusted adult or distracting safely.
Do not collect pupil voice unless leaders are prepared to act on it. Use the answers to update assemblies, staff briefings, parent messages and policy review priorities.
