Anti-Bullying Week staff briefing template

Staff briefings make Anti-Bullying Week consistent. If adults use different definitions, routes or responses, pupils get mixed messages about what will happen when they ask for help.

Briefing opening

This week our school is marking Anti-Bullying Week 2026. The theme is Break the Silence. Our priority is that pupils know what bullying behaviour means, who they can speak to and what adults will do next.

Shared language

Remind staff of the school definition and the difference between conflict, one-off unkind behaviour and bullying behaviour. Give two examples staff can use in class or tutor time.

Reporting route

Name the exact reporting route. Staff should know who records concerns, who informs pastoral leads and what should happen if a pupil discloses a concern during a lesson.

Follow-up after the week

Ask staff to note any confusion pupils show about definitions or reporting. That feedback can guide policy review, parent communication and future workshops.
